Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate could give rare starts to goalkeeper Brad Jones, Dutch winger Marvin Emnes and right-back Matthew Bates.

Both Mido (groin) and Adam Johnson (hamstring) are doubtful.

On-loan striker Wayne Curtis is set to make his Barrow debut and goalkeeper Alan Martin is available after he extended his loan from Leeds

Midfielder Matt Henney should return for the non-league side after recovering from a back injury.
