Head-to-head

Chelsea have won the last five meetings as part of a 12-match unbeaten streak against Palace in the league (W8, D4).

Palace last beat Chelsea in a League Cup fifth-round tie at Selhurst Park in January 1993. Their only league win in this fixture in the last 22 attempts came nearly 24 years ago.

Crystal Palace

Palace have only managed two points from their last five matches and scored once during that winless run.

Tony Pulis’s side attempted just one shot on target in last weekend’s defeat at Newcastle.

The only time they have lost consecutive league games under Pulis was against Newcastle and Chelsea before Christmas.

It is eight hours and 33 minutes since Joe Ledley scored Palace’s last goal from open play in the 3-1 win over West Brom.

The Eagles have the division’s worst goalscoring record (19 goals) and have failed to score in 16 of their 30 matches. Only Cardiff have fared as badly.

Crystal Palace have recovered just two points from losing positions, an equal-low with Sunderland.

Chelsea

Their 6-0 win over Arsenal last weekend was Jose Mourinho’s biggest victory as Chelsea manager in all competitions.

They have kept a league-high 14 clean sheets and conceded the fewest goals in the division (23).

Samuel Eto’o has scored 11 goals for Chelsea – but none of them have come away from home.

Andre Schurrle has scored seven goals in his 10 Premier League starts this season.
