Head-to-head

Last season’s two meetings between the clubs were the first in the top flight. Chelsea won 4-1 at Stamford Bridge but needed a stoppage-time own goal to earn a 1-1 draw at the Liberty Stadium. Both teams now have different managers.

Chelsea had a man sent off in both matches against Swansea last season – Fernando Torres got his marching orders in the home game, with Ashley Cole shown a red card in the away fixture. Torres’ second Premier League red card came last weekend when he was controversially dismissed in the defeat by Manchester United.

In 10 previous trips to Swansea, the Blues have managed just two victories.

Swansea

Swansea have lost just one of their five home league games this season – that was the 3-0 defeat by Everton in September.

According to Opta, Swansea have played 114 long balls (launches as opposed to long passes) this season, fewer than any other top-flight club.

With their haul of 11 points, Swansea are two points better off than they were after nine games last season.

They failed to score or win a Premier League match in November last season (D2, L1).

If selected, Ashley Williams will be making his 350th career league appearance.

The son of Swansea manager Michael Laudrup played for FC Nordsjaelland against Chelsea in the Champions League last month, and Michael’s brother Brian played for Chelsea in the 1998-99 season.

Chelsea

Chelsea have won seven of their first nine league matches – but suffered their first Premier League defeat of the season against Manchester United last weekend.

The Blues are unbeaten away from home in this season’s Premier League. They have won three of their four away matches, with the only blip coming in the 0-0 draw at QPR.

Chelsea have won all six league games in which they have taken the lead this season.

The Blues conceded just two goals in their first five Premier League games of the season, but have conceded seven in their last four.

Florent Malouda has made 149 league appearances for Chelsea.

what a relief for Swansea as they manage to level the score but surely this result is not expected by Chelsea and all of Chelsea fan’s. Chelsea is a better side to win that match and I have many hopes with the Torres but the result totally disappointed me.

Chelsea is an unpredictable team. They will lose when they suppose not to lose, and win when you think all hope is gone.Unstable as waters. One fact remains that Man U has a way of beating Chelsea, come rain, come sunshine. And at-times,Chelsea is unnecessarily aggressive that is why they pick unnecessary cards.
