Kevin Kuranyi’s fourth-minute strike separated Schalke and Porto in Gelsenkirchen a fortnight ago but the Germany international’s goal alone is unlikely to be enough to take the Bundesliga side through to the quarter finals as they meet their Portuguese counterparts for the second leg of their last-16 tie on Wednesday.
