MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

Swansea have won four of their last five league games against Burnley, including two 1-0 wins in the 2014-15 Premier League season.

Burnley’s 2-1 victory against Swansea in the Championship in April 2011 is their only win against the Swans in the last 21 years.

Burnley

Burnley ended 2015-16 unbeaten in 23 league games (W16, D7) – half a Championship season. Their last defeat was away to Hull City on Boxing Day 2015, meaning they enter the Premier League unbeaten in the league in 2016.

The Clarets recorded the exact same playing record (W26, D15, L5) as when they were last promoted in 2013-14. They also scored the same number of goals but conceded two goals fewer.

Burnley have found the back of the net in 17 of their last 18 opening-day matches, failing to score against Stoke in the Premier League in 2009.

In their last top-flight season, in 2014-15, the Clarets had to wait until their 11th match to claim their first win.

Swansea City

Swansea have failed to keep a Premier League clean sheet away from home in 2016, conceding 20 goals in 10 games on the road since a goalless draw at Crystal Palace on 28 December 2015.

This will be the ninth time in 10 years that Swansea have begun their league campaign away from home.

Swansea are unbeaten in their last seven Premier League games played in the month of August (W5, D2).
