Rodgers signs new Liverpool deal

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has signed a new long-term contract with the Premier League runners-up.

Rodgers, who was appointed as Kenny Dalglish’s successor in 2012, has led the Reds back into the Champions League following a four-year absence.

“I am both humbled and privileged to be offered the chance to extend my stay at this great club,” said the 41-year-old Northern Irishman.

Liverpool finished two points behind champions Manchester City this season.
