Head-to-head

The clubs have met 215 times in all competitions, and their last clash at Old Trafford was the highest-scoring match between them – United won 8-2 in the Premier League in August 2011.

Arsenal have not won at Old Trafford since September 2006, when Emmanuel Adebayor scored the only goal. Since then they have suffered seven defeats and one draw in all competitions.

United have won six of the past 10 Premier League meetings between the clubs, with Arsenal winning two.

This will be the 48th meeting in all competitions between Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger. Ferguson leads by 21 wins to 15.

Manchester United

United have never lost a Premier League game after going two goals ahead (337 wins, 10 draws).

The club has played five Premier League games this season in which they’ve both scored and conceded two or more goals (the highest total in the five major European leagues).

Since August 2009, Robin van Persie has hit the woodwork on nine more occasions than any other player in the Premier League (he has done so 21 times).

Van Persie scored 96 goals in 194 Premier League appearances for Arsenal.

Only Jermain Defoe (nine) has scored more Premier League away goals as a substitute than Javier Hernandez, who has seven.

Arsenal

The Gunners have scored fewer goals (one) in the first 30 minutes of matches than any other team in the Premier League.

The club have accumulated 15 points after nine games this season, compared to 13 points at the same stage last season.

They are one of four Premier League clubs yet to drop points from winning positions this season – the others are Manchester United, Chelsea and Swansea.

Jack Wilshere made his first senior Arsenal appearance for 524 days (17 months) last weekend against QPR. He completed all 33 passes he made in the first-half.

Arsenal is a light-weight while Man U is a heavy-weight.It would be a matter of grace, for Arsenal to beat Man U . Man U has a standard which cannot be lowered. To beat Arsenal is normal.Though one cannot but admire the Proffessor,Arsene Wenger for his year by year bringing -out a quality team, no matter who goes out .A team on good day can humble any team in Europe .
