SOME FACTS:

Head-to-head

The two sides drew 1-1 at the DW Stadium in December. It was only the fifth point the Latics had taken off Chelsea in 13 Premier League encounters.

Before that draw, they had lost the last three matches against the Blues by a combined aggregate scoreline of 15-0, including 8-0 and 6-0 drubbings.

This is only the 19th time they have faced each other in all competitions. Wigan won the first two encounters, but have managed just one win since.

Chelsea

Since Andre Villas-Boas left, they have won seven matches, drawn one, and lost one (all competitions).

Chelsea last lost a Premier League home game in April in 2002 (0-3 v Man Utd). Since then their record is won 15, drawn eight.

Daniel Sturridge has scored 10 Premier League goals, becoming the first English striker to reach double figures for Chelsea in a single season in 18 years since Paul Furlong (10 goals) in 1994-95.

This is the first time in the Premier League that two different English players (Sturridge and Frank Lampard) have reached double figures in a season for Chelsea.

Wigan

Wigan have won back-to-back Premier League matches for only the second time under Roberto Martinez.

Over the last eight games, Wigan have the sixth best form in the Premier League, picking up 13 points and losing just once.

Roberto Martinez is one Premier League defeat away from his 50th as Wigan boss.

Wigan have lost 14 of their last 15 Premier League trips to London, conceding 46 goals in those games at an average of 3.1 per game.
