Manchester City lost a second league game in a row with Harry Kane scoring his first club goal this season as Spurs came back from 1-0 down to win.

Kevin de Bruyne angled in an effort for City before Eric Dier equalised with a 25-yard shot.

Toby Alderweireld then nodded Spurs in front from an Erik Lamela free-kick.

Kane sidefooted in when team-mate Christian Eriksen’s free-kick came back off the woodwork before Lamela slotted in as the visitors chased the game.

Manchester City have won eight of the last nine league meetings. They have scored 16 goals to Tottenham’s two in the last four games – winning them all.

City have scored 27 goals in their last eight league games against Spurs at an average of 3.4 a game.


Spurs have lost just one of their last eight league games (W4, D3, L1).

However, they have only scored five goals in their six league matches this season.

Tottenham have the second best defensive record in the division so far, conceding four goals. Manchester City have only let in two.

The average age of their starting XI against Crystal Palace last weekend was 24 years and 118 days, the youngest of any team in a Premier League game so far this season.

Mauricio Pochettino’s only win in 12 league matches as a head coach against Manuel Pellegrini came in November 2010 when his Espanyol side beat Malaga 1-0.

Harry Kane has scored just two goals in his last 14 league appearances, having scored 17 in his previous 15 league matches.

Manchester City

City have won five successive away games in the league, equalling a club record for the top flight set in April to September 1912.

Their club record 11-match winning streak in the league was ended last weekend by West Ham.

Victor Moses’ opening goal for the Hammers was the first league goal City had conceded in 572 minutes.

They have now conceded five goals in their last three league and cup matches, having let in just two in their previous nine.
