Man Utd 1-4 Liverpool Highlights

By eplmatches
Updated: March 14, 2009

Rafael Benitez’s Liverpool breathed new life into their title challenge with a comprehensive win at Manchester United.

Pepe Reina felled Ji-Sung Park early on and Cristiano Ronaldo scored a penalty.

However, Fernando Torres made the most of a Nemanja Vidic error to level and Steven Gerrard’s penalty completed the turnaround after Patrice Evra’s foul.

Vidic then saw red for a professional foul on Gerrard, before Fabio Aurelio’s curled free-kick and a lob from Andrea Dossena in injury time settled matters.

absoultely brilliant game, brilliant goals, torres finish was superb. all ronaldo could do was put away a silly spot kick?? well this torres-ronaldo matchup should silence some critics saying christiano the baby ronaldo is better.. absolutely trash compared to torres OR gerrard. and fabio aurelia’s left foot has always been first class, its about time rafa has let him see first team action.. well deserved

This was a good game, but overall, I have to say United deserved to win. The stats clearly showed they had more possesion and shots. They just outplayed Liverpool. To be fair, united only lost, because Vidic made two basic errors. Honestly, shouldnt have been a red card. There were players coming across to cover. The Other mistake was stupid, thats a fair goal. But if vidic didnt make these errors, im sure united wouldve won or drawn the game. In my view, if united win their game in hand. This
Man u V Liverpool would never have existed as united would still be 7 points ahead. The titles will be united’s. Theres no stopping them now. I do give credit to Liverpool though, they put in a good fight. Atleast the race for the title wont be too embarrassing.

  18. Liverpool: You'll never walk AGAIN!

    March 15, 2009 at 12:55 pm

And i think this means if they win the title. Liverpool 18 / Manchester United 18.

Also, that would be 4 titles in the bag. Then 5 as they are favourites for the FA cup. I will back liverpool for the Champions League. I am a united fan, but i do respect liverpool, and they truley deserve to win the champions league after what they did to Real Madrid. Atleast this shows England dominates Spain and Italian leagues. England Football will rule Forever!

    P.s Im from Australia haha.

“I have to say United deserved to win. The stats clearly showed they had more possesion and shots. ” The stats clearly show that Liverpool scored 4 goals and Man U. scored one (dodgy penalty at that)

This is what the reds can do. I’m proud by the reds. No more manchester and no more Cup at all. This was the cup and the liverals take it already. No more Ronaldo and Ferguson. Gerrard and Tores as well as other players of Liverpool were so fantastic and dominates those bullsheet manchester united players. So, no need to worry about the cup now. It is already finished. Is there an other CUP then? I don’t think that. Game is over and the cup is already taken by the liverals. No more talking, finished!.

To the so called Liverpool: Youll never walk again!… You are a typical australian drop kick!!! first of all you come up with the excuses  why Man U shouldnt have lost then the red card excuses and then the stats!!! well at the end of the game the stats showed Liverpool 4 Man United 1 and that is the true fact of stats…stats dont mean nothing unless you get the result your way, how can Man U out played Liverpool with more possesion and more shots on goal but only one goal from a cheesy call from the ref?…Liverpool deserves credit for the defence and confusion they applied to Man U and stopping them from scoring…typically australian to count the FA final already before the game has even been played…so Man U are favourites to win so what…just like the australian rugby league team to beat New Zealand in the rugby league world cup final…dont count your chickens before they have hatched son!!!…I may not be from liverpool or England but im a fan of Liverpool for 22 yrs and i take the losses as good as the wins with dignity and acceptance with respect.

i totally agree with “kiwi boi”…i dunno wat da hell is dat aussie ***t has to say..
but its all bu*****…the fact of the matter is we won the game fair n square both home and away jus to prove who the better team in the EPL is…
forget the title for now since we were inconsistant..but on a 1 on 1 challenge..we stepped up n literally demolished you all….it was all about the pride!

All Liverpool fans, we should now be sportsmen and at least give some credit to Vidic for the wonderful performance he should us during the match. If it were not for him, liverpool would still WIN but faced challangers but thanks to VIDIC Liverpool had a EASY victory overMan Utd. Lads, wanna know why Man Utd lost? Because God doesn’t side with a bloody team who calls themselves Red Devils!!!!  Reds would still win the CL and EPL and Man utd and sulk over their League and FA cup that has no popularity at all!!! HAHAHA, Liverpool for life!!
