Watching “Match Of The Day” on BBC, I was surprised to hear the commentator raving over the quality of Rooney’s goal, but he had no praise for Berbatov’s.
After the match, Gary Lineker said that 3 great goals had been seen on the show; Drogba, Torres & Rooney’s goals.
Now while they were all good goals, to ignore Berbatov’s magnificent volley is unconscionable; it was certainly much better than any of the others in regard to individual skill – only the team build-up for Drogba’s goal showed equal merit.
I know Berba’s subtle skills are often underrated, but come on; that goal was a show-stopper – and in breaking the deadlock at the time was crucial to United’s win!
