EPL Fixtures for Season 2009-2010

Fixtures for English Premier League 2009-2010 has been announced.

Newly promoted Birmingham City will face the Champions, Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Chelsea also have the first match at home, Stamford Bridge. Carlo Ancelotti’s first game in charge is against Hull City.

Hull survived relegation from the Premier League by the skin of their teeth as they lost to Manchester United but results elsewhere went their way.

Newcastle lost at Aston Villa and Middlesbrough were beaten by West Ham, which condemned both north-east sides to the Championship next season.

Portsmouth 3-1 Sunderland Highlights

Sunderland remain in serious danger of relegation after relinquishing a one-goal lead to lose at Portsmouth.

The visitors took the lead against the run of play when Calum Davenport’s cross was tapped in by Kenwyne Jones.

John Utaka fired in an equaliser a minute later and then forced Phil Bardsley to bundle in an own goal that gave the home side the lead.

Sunderland’s woe was sealed late on when Utaka found substitute Armand Traore and he fired in an angled shot.

Chelsea 2-0 Blackburn Highlights

Nicolas Anelka set up one goal and scored another as Chelsea strolled past Blackburn in manager Guus Hiddink’s final match at Stamford Bridge.

Blackburn were one off the foot when Sam Allardyce took over. They will finish in a comfortable mid-table position.
