City have won their last seven Premier League matches against the Latics, including a 2-0 victory at the DW last November and a 1-0 triumph at the Etihad Stadium in April.

• Bournemouth (in a replay), Macclesfield, Huddersfield and Everton were all knocked out on their opponents’ ground, before the Latics beat Millwall 2-0 in the semi-final at Wembley.
• The 2006 League Cup runners-up, who lost 4-0 to Manchester United in the final at the Millennium Stadium, are paying their second visit to the new Wembley.
• Wigan are third bottom in the Premier League, three points from safety with two to play, 16 places and 40 points inferior to Manchester City, having won one and lost three of the last five.

• Manchester United are defending the best record in FA Cup history of 11 wins (five under Sir Alex Ferguson), 18 appearances in the final and 27 in the semi-finals.
• The Premier League champions-elect are determined to do the double, having not won the cup since 2004, and have faced a Premier League club in their last eight FA Cup games.
• The Red Devils are looking for a 21st win from 28 FA Cup rounds against Premier League sides, since lifting the silverware nine years ago.

The last 18 league goals scored by Newcastle have come from overseas players – nine goals by Frenchmen, seven from Senegalese, and one each by an Argentinian and Italian. They’ve also benefited from own goals by a Northern Irish and Dutch player since James Perch became their last English scorer, against Manchester United on Boxing Day.
West Ham ended a 12-match winless streak against Chelsea by winning the reverse fixture 3-1 in December. The hosts came from behind to triumph thanks to goals from Carlton Cole, Mohamed Diame and Modibo Maiga.
The Hammers have only taken one point from their last six visits to Stamford Bridge since a 3-2 victory in September 2002. Paolo Di Canio scored twice for the visitors, while Frank Lampard played for Chelsea and John Terry was an unused substitute.

Jon Walters has started each of Stoke’s last 72 league games, the longest current run of any outfield player in the top flight.
Peter Crouch scored in his first game against Chelsea, for Aston Villa in May 2002, but hasn’t found the net in 15 Premier League games against them since.

• The Blue Square Bet Premier outfit go into the weekend 93 places lower than Liverpool on the league ladder, with the Reds the first league club they are facing in this FA Cup run.
• It is 44 years since the Stags dumped a top-flight club out of the competition. They were in the old Third Division when they thrashed West Ham 3-0 in the fifth round at Field Mill, on their way to a club record appearance in the quarter-finals.

• Mansfield are the first non-league club Liverpool have faced in the FA Cup since Havant & Waterlooville in the fourth round in 2008, which they won comfortably 5-2 at Anfield.
• Southern League Worcester City were the last non-leaguers to knock out Liverpool; the Merseysiders, a Second Division club at the time, lost the third round tie 2-1 away, on 15 January 1959.
• Only three clubs have won the FA Cup more often than Liverpool’s seven – Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham. They last lifted the silverware in 2006, after beating West Ham on penalties in the last final to be staged at the Millennium Stadium. The most recent of their 14 appearances in the final was last season, when beaten 2-1 by Chelsea.
Manchester City did the double over Norwich last season, winning 5-1 at home and 6-1 away. Carlos Tevez scored a hat-trick at Carrow Road while Sergio Aguero scored three over the two games.

Norwich
Norwich have won five of their last six home league matches. Only the two Manchester sides and West Brom have won more than five this season.
After defeats to West Brom and Chelsea, the Canaries are in danger of losing three in a row for the second time this season. They lost consecutive matches to Liverpool, Newcastle and Chelsea in September-October.
Norwich are three points better off than they were at this stage last season, although they are one place lower in the league (11th).
Manchester City

Frank Lampard became Chelsea’s record top-flight league scorer at the weekend with 130 goals for the club, overtaking Bobby Tambling (129).
